# Slashing and Penalties

To maintain network reliability and prevent malicious behaviour, validators are subject to slashing conditions for violations such as downtime or prolonged inactivity, double-signing blocks, and submitting incorrect or manipulated data. Validators who repeatedly fail to meet uptime or data accuracy requirements risk losing a portion of their staked tokens and receiving a reduced reputation score, limiting their ability to participate in consensus.
